Ten Things To Consider Whether You Need an iPad

Ten Things To Consider Whether You Need an iPad
Before buying an iPad you should ask these questions to yourself. For many people, the iPad is still an expensive toy, therefore it is necessary to know whether the iPad really worth your money.

1. Do you Multitask Often? If so, the iPad is not your device of choice. It is currently lack a true multitasking feature. Just like cheap non-OS phones, the iPad can only do everything one at a time. Fortunately, that will change this fall, the iPhone OS 4.0 will give it a full multitasking feature and many other major updates. If multitasking is really important for your productivity, it is a good idea to postpone your purchase until later this year and perhaps you’ll get a lower price too.

2. Are you a Video Junkie? Then, it is quite likely that Youtube is not your only favorite site. Most video sharing sites still use Flash-based videos, so they’ll just poop out when you use the iPad’s Safari. Apple has gone on a full offensive against Flash and Mac lovers have blindly supported it. Unfortunately, Flash is ubiquitous and it is simply all over the Web. Avoiding Flash entirely may make your web experience less satisfying, for example, you’ll be unable to play Flash-based games and some Web sites will fail to work entirely.

3. Do You Have Nimble Hands? If yes, then the iPad is for you. It is a purely a finger-oriented device.  With its intuitive multi-touch display, the iPad can be both productive and fun than those mouse-based machines. But still, a virtual keyboard will never be able to replace a physical keyboard, typing a one-hundred page proposal will leave you with sore fingers.

4. Do You Want to Have Better E-Mail Management? In just one day, mails may pile up really quickly in your inbox. A large part of your working time can be spent only for deleting and arranging e-mails. With the iPad you can select a whole bunch of e-mails quite easily.

5. Do you Really Want to Rebuy Your Apps? Of course, you can run iPhone apps on the iPad, but using iPad to run iPhone apps is both awkward and pointless. It’s such a waste of the large screen and the iPad version is usually cost more.

6. Do You Enjoy Reading on the Toilet? Don’t be embarrassed, we all do. The iPad is a perfect handheld device to read the latest news, magazine and e-books, or even work on a spreadsheet.

7. Do You Have a Huge Music and Video Library? Many people have more than 100GB of music and video content in their laptops. Even the 64GB version is a bit underwhelming for content collectors. Since the iPad has no USB ports, an external storage, such as hard drive, DVD and flash drive aren’t real solutions either.

8. Are you a big fan of MacBook but couldn’t afford or justify the $1000 price tag? Luckily, for half that price, you can have an iPad. It can be safely stated that the iPad provides most of MacBook functionality. For that puny storage (16GB), no internal camera, no Flash support and no multitasking, you need to spend $499. But if you can live with it, iPad surely has a good deal of appeal. And the screen is so amazing, you may want to kiss it.

9. Do You Read Magazines and Comics Often? Reading magazines and comics on a netbook can be awkward. They should be read in portrait orientation and the screen must be large enough to show the entire page. You’ll love the iPad for its form factor. It may be a little too thick for a magazine reader, so hopefully Apple will release a more compact version of the iPad.

10. Do You Travel Often and Despise Those Security Checks? Security line is the place where notebook theft often occurs and with the iPad, you don’t have to remove anything from your bag. It will save you time and troubles, some iPad users reported that they can pass through the security line in airports without too much trouble.
